DRAWING ON LOCATION
The experience of drawing and painting on location has become the most important element of my art process. I love spending time in a natural habitat, increasing a connection and understanding of the rhythms of the wildlife there.

I enjoy discovering and describing the specific characteristics of wildlife using observation, memory, and expressive drawing techniques. Other senses become involved other than the visual.
Both art-making and spending time in nature have been shown to improve mental well-being.

I hope to encourage other artists to draw from experience, employing a variety of methods, to develop a responsive visual language.
