Wildlife Illustration

Concept

The life cycle and migratory patterns of birds inspired research for two paintings narrating the story of  a fledging gannet.

In 2020, for this illustrative brief, I accessed underwater video footage of Gannets diving for fish and viewed it at a normal and then slowed
playback speed. I combined drawing techniques and visual memory to capture the energy of these magnificent diving birds.
